Hands-free remote
Control your iPhone teleprompter with Apple Watch
Choose a script, operate scrolling and recording, adjust text settings, and handle a completed take from your wrist.
What you can do
- Select synchronized scripts
- Start or pause scrolling and recording
- Adjust speed, font size, and line spacing
- See countdown, recording time, and teleprompter playback time
How it works
Open PromptFy on the iPhone and connect the companion watch app. The phone remains authoritative while the Watch sends immediate commands and displays synchronized state.
Good to know
The iPhone stays in charge. The Watch sends commands and displays snapshots of the phone's state: the script list, current script, scroll and recording values, language and whether the phone is in the foreground.
Speed, font size and line spacing are set with the Digital Crown. The timer shows recording time in red while recording and teleprompter playback time while you only scroll, and it reads 00:00 when idle. iPhone and Watch follow the same rule.
Frequently asked questions
Can the Watch record video by itself?
No. The iPhone performs the recording; Apple Watch acts as a remote and status display.
What happens when the iPhone is unreachable?
Immediate controls are disabled and the Watch prompts you to open or reconnect the iPhone.
Is the Apple Watch app available on every plan?
Some Watch controls depend on your plan. When the iPhone is connected and the plan does not include them, the Watch shows a screen explaining that a premium plan is required.
