Voice comparison

Compare isolated voice with your original video audio

Compare original and isolated voice in PromptFy before applying a result. Understand the model requirement, source limit, and listening checks.

How the tool works

Open Audio and choose a video take or added sound, then Isolate voice. The comparison screen keeps the result as a draft until Apply. Listening to the original does not restore or change anything, so you can compare without committing an edit.

The listening controls share a position slider for original and processed audio. Check the same difficult phrase in both versions rather than comparing different parts of the recording. The tool is an audio comparison, not a promise that every background sound will disappear.

Build it step by step

Choose a source with useful audible speech and confirm that the app can run the separation model. Keep an original example of the difficult passage in mind.

  • Listen to the original and identify the word or sentence that needs better separation.
  • Run isolation and wait for the draft result rather than changing other project sources mid-process.
  • Compare the same phrase in the original and processed playback using the position control.
  • Listen for missing consonants, altered voice texture, residual noise, and sudden level changes.
  • Apply only a helpful result, or leave the comparison to discard the draft and keep the original.

An example to adapt

Illustrative exercise: a short explanation includes a steady background hum. Compare a quiet sentence and a pause, not just the loud opening word.

If the hum becomes quieter but the last syllable of the instruction disappears, keep the original or record that sentence again. A cleaner pause is not enough when the message becomes harder to understand.

Check before finishing

Isolation currently accepts an original source file of 60 seconds or less. Trimming a longer file does not remove that source limit. The additional model is a prerequisite, and results vary with overlap and recording quality. The original is preserved and committed processing can be undone.

The timeline editor requires Starter or above. Check the app for current feature access and purchase options before planning your edit.

Frequently asked questions

Is sound identification enough to isolate voice?

No. Identification uses the included classifier; isolation needs the additional separation model.

Does listening to the draft save it?

No. Apply commits the result; cancelling or leaving discards the draft.

Does isolation replace good microphone placement?

No. Capture a clear voice first and evaluate processing as a separate finishing choice.
