Voice-over recording

Record a voice-over for an existing video

Import a video, read or narrate while it plays, and create a new version with your recorded audio.

What you can do

  • Import a video from your library
  • Narrate while watching playback
  • Use a saved script as your speaking reference
  • Create a new video with the recorded narration

How it works

Choose a script and import the source movie. PromptFy previews the video, prepares the selected microphone, captures your narration during playback, and merges the transformed audio with the picture.

Good to know

Voice-over reuses the same recording state as camera capture. The imported movie plays as the picture source, your narration is recorded through the selected microphone with any audio processing you enabled, and the two are merged into a new file.

The original video is never replaced. Because the flow starts from a saved script, the text you wrote stays your speaking reference while the video plays.

Frequently asked questions

Does voice-over delete the source video?

No. The workflow creates a resulting video and retains the selected source.

Can I use the teleprompter while narrating?

The flow starts from a saved script and is designed to support scripted narration.

Which microphone is used for voice-over?

The same microphone selection used for camera recording, including compatible wired or Bluetooth inputs and the optional audio effects.
