Put two videos in one frame on iPhone

How the tool works

A second video gets its own Video 2 track. Use a recording from PromptFy, a video from Photos, or a file to build a reaction, a screen demonstration, or a conversation. Choose stacked, side-by-side, or window layouts; the window sits at the top right.

The layout shares the frame only while the second clip plays. Where that track is empty, the main take fills the frame again. Move, trim, split, reframe, swap positions, and adjust the second clip's volume. Each video keeps its own caption style and position.

Build it step by step

Prepare the main explanation and the second video before choosing a layout. The second source can be a recording, a Photos video, or a file.

• Place the cursor where the second video should start and open Layout in the tool bar.
• Choose the source and a stacked, side-by-side, or window composition that keeps the action readable.
• Select the second clip to adjust its start, end, and volume independently.
• Reframe a selected clip by dragging the preview and pinching; swap positions if the important action is cramped.
• Watch the moments before and after Video 2 plays to check the return to full screen.

An example to adapt

Illustrative exercise: explain a phone setting while a screen recording occupies the top half of a vertical video. Keep your delivery underneath so the viewer can follow the instruction and still see your expression.

Trim the screen recording to the demonstration itself. When you return to the closing sentence, let the main take occupy the full frame instead of leaving an unnecessary second picture visible.

Check before finishing

The window is positioned at the top right; freely moving it to another corner is not supported. Only one secondary video shares the frame at a time. Captions from both sources can appear together, so place them in different readable areas and check the exported result.

The timeline editor requires Starter or above. Check the app for current feature access and purchase options before planning your edit.
