Dubbing an assembled project
Dub your edited video project into another language
Dub an assembled PromptFy project with its cuts, layouts, and audio. Review the submitted edit and recognize versions made before later changes.
How the tool works
Languages shows the assembled video before submission. The dubbing render excludes captions and text overlays so the dubbed version can be finished in the destination language. A plain recording is treated as its own source; a project has its own dubbed versions.
A dubbed project version remembers the edit it came from. Later changes to the montage can mark that version as made from an earlier edit. This distinction helps you avoid sharing a translation that no longer matches the current cut.
Build it step by step
Finish the intended cut and audio balance, then review the app’s current dubbing access and AI allowances before confirming a request.
- Watch the whole project and resolve unnecessary repetitions, layout timing, and overlapping voices.
- Open Languages and verify the video preview that will be sent for dubbing.
- Choose the destination language and confirm only when that assembly is the one you intend to translate.
- Listen to the returned speech and review names, terms, and the correspondence with the picture.
- Add or review destination-language captions and check for an earlier-edit marker after further project changes.
An example to adapt
Illustrative exercise: a lesson combines an introduction, a screen demonstration, and a closing. Complete that order before requesting another language so the translated explanation follows the same visible steps.
If you later shorten the demonstration, revisit the dubbed version rather than assuming it has updated. Decide whether the older translated edit is still useful or a new request is needed.
Check before finishing
Changing the project does not automatically generate or charge for another dub. Deleting a project also removes its own dubbed versions while preserving source recordings. A dubbed version can have its own edit, so check the correct source and language before exporting.
The timeline editor requires Starter or above. Check the app for current feature access and purchase options before planning your edit.
Frequently asked questions
Are project dubs stored under the first recording?
No. They belong to the project’s own identity and are separate from recording-level versions.
Are text overlays submitted for dubbing?
The assembled dubbing render excludes captions and text overlays; review finishing in the destination language.
Does editing automatically request another dub?
No. The earlier-edit marker informs you; another request needs your deliberate action.
