Format and export quality
Choose video format and export quality on iPhone
Choose vertical, landscape, square, or 4:5 video in PromptFy. Reframe clips and select export resolution and frame rate without stretching the source.
How the tool works
Choose Original, 9:16, 16:9, 1:1, or 4:5; rotate a clip in 90-degree steps and use Fit or Fill without stretching it. Export quality offers Original, 1080p, 720p, or 30 fps when those settings reduce the source quality. These choices do not add detail that was absent from the recording.
Build it step by step
Open Layout to choose the project frame and the video screen’s export-quality options for output settings. Keep the destination’s intended shape in mind.
- Choose Original, 9:16, 16:9, 1:1, or 4:5 according to the video’s intended use.
- Inspect every source after the frame changes, especially imported footage with another shape.
- Use Fit to keep the full picture or Fill and Reframe to select a useful crop.
- Choose a lower resolution or frame rate only when offered for that source and appropriate for your output.
- Export a short test and check captions, titles, faces, and important action in the saved result.
An example to adapt
Illustrative exercise: turn a landscape demonstration into a vertical explanation. Keep the essential hand movement inside the crop and move any title that now covers it.
If the action cannot fit comfortably in a vertical crop, use Fit or a different composition rather than stretching the image. A readable demonstration matters more than filling every pixel of the frame.
Check before finishing
Export settings offer reductions, not an upgrade above the source’s captured detail. Frame changes, cuts, sound edits, and lower quality can require rendering. Original is useful when you want to preserve available source quality, but still review the project’s visible layers before sharing.
The timeline editor requires Starter or above. Check the app for current feature access and purchase options before planning your edit.
Frequently asked questions
Can export create real detail above the source resolution?
No. Choosing an output does not add detail absent from the original footage.
What is the difference between Fit and Fill?
Fit keeps the full picture with bars if needed; Fill covers the frame by cropping rather than stretching.
Will titles and captions use the new frame?
They render within the project frame; inspect their placement after changing its shape.
